👨‍🎓 About me 👨‍🎓

I has an absolute passion for Biology and I managed to score a raw 50 back when I was in high school! I have been tutoring high school students for over 4 years! You might think that getting a score like a raw 50 is so unattainable if you have been struggling academically but my story proves that this isn’t the case. I struggled a lot academically in the earlier part of high school. It was only until I had a massive mindset shift that I went from playing video games for 4 hours a day to studying 6 hours a day to catch up for lost time. And with determination and focus, I created a new path for myself in life. Now, since finishing high school, I graduated as the dux of Monash University Biomedicine, was selected to take part as a delegate in an international UN conference in New York (while still balancing university studies), I have been tutoring for all these years and am. currently a medical student at the university of Melbourne. This shows that wherever you are now, you can still progress and become the version of you that you want to become with focus, determination and structure. I’ll help you with that. 

📚 Why do I do tutoring? 📚

While there are many reasons, the main reason is that tutoring is one of the most satisfying roles I’ve had in my life. What makes it so satisfying, it is you guys, being able to form a tutor-student relationship is what helps you feel comfortable sharing your worries with me, so that I can help you succeed, but also I get to hear all about your successes which makes tutoring just so worthwhile. 

🗓 Program structure 🗓

1. The full course program outline can be found on the next page on Teachable 
2. On Sunday night, the content and questions booklet relevant for the following week's topics will be uploaded onto the P.A Tutoring Teachable platform.
3. Attend the lecture session on Thursday - Where we will run through the content for that week (refer to program outline to keep track)
4. Only after attending/reviewing the lecture session, you should attempt the allocated questions in the question booklet for that week. 
5. You should attend your allocated tutorial class on the weekend prepared with your difficult questions and other questions to ask me (Phillipe).
6. The answers booklet will be uploaded on Sunday night of that week. The same time as next week's content and questions booklets.

🧠 Your responsibilities 🧠

1. It is your responsible to check the uploaded booklets (content and questions) every Sunday night so it is suggested that you create a reminder/google calendar reminder for yourself to do so!
2. You are expected to read through the content booklet as part of "pre-study" before the lecture session. During "pre-study" the goal is not to fully understand all the concepts but rather, to expose yourself to the content at least once before attending the lecture session live/viewing the recording.
3. You are expected to type out your answers to the questions that you found most difficult in order to send these in the tutorial class "zoom chat" privately to me (Phillipe) to review.
4. After the tutorial class, you are expected to note down all suggestions/improvements and tips made to you and spend at least 30-60 minutes reflecting on this feedback and actually acting on the feedback to improve.
5. You are expected to continuously review content throughout the program, which means reviewing earlier contents and not leave reviewing all the material until the last minute (cramming). 

It is your responsibility to let me know when you are feeling demotivated or feeling disengaged with the Master VCE Unit 4 Biology Course. I am absolutely dedicated to making sure that all of you receive lots of value from this program and absolutely annihilate VCE 3/4 Biology, just as so many of my past students have!
